Oshkosh All-Stars

National Basketball League ( NBL) este o ligă profesionistă de baschet masculin din  America de Nord , care a existat între 1937 și 1949. A fuzionat cu Asociația de Baschet din America (BAA) în 1949 pentru a forma Asociația Națională de Baschet (NBA).

Istorie

NBL a fost creat în 1937 și a inclus 13 echipe anterior independente. A apărut inițial în 1935 ca Midwest Basketball Conference, dar și-a schimbat numele doi ani mai târziu, în încercarea de a câștiga mai multă atenție. Liga a fost creată de trei corporații - General Electric , Firestone și Goodyear - și a constat în principal din echipe corporative cu sediul în regiunea Marilor Lacuri . NBL a durat 12 ani înainte de a fuziona cu BAA în 1949 pentru a forma Asociația Națională de Baschet.

În primele zile ale ligii, regulile sale erau mai informale. Deci, echipelor li s-a permis să stabilească în mod independent programul jocurilor lor, totuși, fiecare echipă a fost obligată să joace cel puțin 10 meciuri, dintre care 4 în deplasare. Jocul a constat din patru sferturi de 10 minute sau trei perioade de 15 minute. Formatul jocului a fost ales de gazde. Unele echipe erau independente, altele erau corporative și mulți jucători din echipele corporative lucrau pentru propriile companii.

Istoria NBL este împărțită în trei perioade: prima este asociată cu Oshkosh All-Stars , a doua cu Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons și ultima cu George Miken .
